Cooke Scotland Sponsors Taste of Shetland Festival

Cooke Scotland has proudly co-sponsored the Taste of Shetland Food and Drink Festival 2023.

This two-day festival, the pinnacle of Shetland’s culinary calendar, brings together live entertainment, culinary inspiration, and some of the finest food and beverages the island has to offer.

Visitors and locals are invited to attend the event on the 28 and 29 October 2023 at the Clickimin Leisure Centre, Lerwick.

Cooke is joined by Scottish Sea Farms and sector trade body Salmon Scotland as the main sponsors of the festival.

Colin Blair, Managing Director of Cooke Scotland, said: “Supporting the communities where we live and operate is at the heart of what we do and we are proud to partner with Shetland Food and Drink and the Scottish salmon sector for this year’s Taste of Shetland Food and Drink Festival.

“As a producer of the finest Scottish salmon, renowned for its beautifully firm texture and distinctive full flavour, we hope everyone attending the festival will join us for a taste of what we have to offer.

“Our salmon are responsibly farm-raised with care in Shetland and the island provides the perfect conditions for our fish to grow, in cold, fast-flowing seawater from the north Atlantic ocean.”

The headline act this year is The Hebridean Baker, Coinneach MacLeod, an international best-selling culinary artist.

Visitors are welcome to attend the cooking demonstrations over the weekend, presented by Shetland’s homegrown culinary talents, who will showcase their skills and includes some tasty salmon dishes.

Tavish Scott, chief executive of Salmon Scotland, said: “Twenty per cent of all farm-raised Scottish salmon comes from Shetland and the sector in turn makes up one fifth of the Shetland economy.

“Together with our local farming companies – Cooke Scotland and Scottish Sea Farms – Salmon Scotland is proud to sponsor Taste of Shetland Festival and showcase the finest food and drink these isles have to offer.”
